The Opus website is a Gold Award winner
A W3 Award honors creative excellence on the web. It is juried by the AIVA, the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts.
Opus is a Gold Award winner this year for... wait for it, our own website! We're not always afforded the opportunity to stray too far from convention for client websites, so we're happy that we took a risk with this format and design. The homepage places major emphasis on the portfolio, showing over-sized images of our work. As a result, the Opus logo is small, navigation is cooked into a hamburger icon tucked up in the left hand corner and little infographic icons with rollovers are pretty much the only text on the page. As visual designers, this website demonstrates clearly, that sometimes it's better to show logos, infographics and websites -- vs talk about them. (that's what the blog is for!)
Anyway, we are very excited and honored to receive the W3 award "Website Features and Visual Appeal." The other gold winner in Boston was the Jack Daniel's website by Arnold Worldwide. Very cool. Congratulations to Ellery and Julia who lead the design!
